At the Autosport International Racing Car Show, January 2002, twenty
three year old Henry Nickless presented his first Chiron racing car
to the world. Media interest was intense.
'Chiron showcases fresh young talent' and 'New Chiron a crowd-pleaser' were
the headlines in the press. Marcus Pye in his weekly column stated, 'surprise of the show , for me at least , was the debut of Henry
Nickless's superb Chiron National Supersports car. That, at 23, he
has produced
that- bodywork and all- suggests a very bright future for the young
man'.
Three years on and those comments were well justified. Chiron have
totally dominated the Dunlop National Supersports Championship, which
they have won for the last two years running. Since Chiron arrived
on the track, not a single component designed or made by Henry Nickless
has failed. The works car driven by Stephen Shanly has not failed
to finish any of the thirty two races started in the last two years.
Two new customer cars were out on the track for 2004. Doug Hart
had a win at Pembrey and numerous podium finishes. With Alex
Buncombe as his co-driver a Britsport race was entered in November
at Brands
Hatch.
The competition consisted of other well known sports prototype
racing
cars, with 100+bhp more than produced by the Chiron’s Vauxhall
engine. They won in style.
Peter Hobday had his first ever win in his Chiron at Castle Combe,
to the delight of all concerned.
Word has spread around the world about the superior handling
and reliability of the Chiron LMP3. New cars are scheduled
for delivery
to the USA
and Australia early in 2005.
Henry Nickless has big plans for 2005, details of which will
be announced on this web site.
