Chris Buncombe. Le Mans 24 hour Winner 2007!!!
Congratulations from all at Chiron World Sports Cars to Chris Buncombe and the Binnie Motorsport team on their stunning win in the LMP2 class at Le Mans 24 hour race over the weekend.
Chris drove the first works Chiron LMP3 to three consecutive wins in 2002, and in 2003 he won the last Supersport race of the year at Snetterton.
Stephen Shanly was unable to drive in the last race of 2003, having already convincingly won the championship. An exercise he was to repeat in 2004. Chris was called in to drive and had some serious competition in the form of Ben Clucas and Chris Ward. Chris won in style and younger brother Alex repeated the exercise in race two.
Chris and Alex have always had a major role in testing and development of the Chiron LMP3. An opportunity they never refuse.
Chiron is confident that this result will lead to far greater opportunities for this very talented racing driver. They are proud to have given Chris his first drive ever in a sports prototype racing car which has lead to where he is today. Winning Le Mans at his first attempt.
