Championship Win for Chiron Down Under.

Steve Morcombe clinched the 2006 Queensland Open Sports Car Championship in grand style. Driving his Chiron LMP3-05 racing car fitted with a Toyota 1600cc motor, he has won every race entered this year. A total of 12 races and 12 outright wins. There are still two races to go this year but such is Steve’s championship lead, he cannot be beaten. The majority of the championship rounds have been at Morgan Park, where he has reduced the lap record by 5 seconds.

Next outing is the National finals at Oran Park near Sydney. A mere 13 hour drive from home in Queensland. A good entry of competitors from all over Australia are expected.

Doug Hart driving his Chiron LMP3-04 Judd, won the Britsport race at Donington Park this weekend. This gives Chiron 50 race wins and 3 championships won in 5 years.

Chiron

Steve Morcombe from Queensland has totally dominated sports car racing in Australia this year. Driving his Chiron LMP3-05 powered by a Toyota 1.6 20v motor, Steve has won every race entered and broken the lap record at every event. Steve won the Queensland Open Sports Car Championship with twelve straight wins and with two races still to go.

On the 16th November Steve and the Chiron Australia team headed off on a 13hr drive to the Australian National Sports Car Championships. The championships where held at Oran Park near Sydney with three races to be decided over the 18-19th November. Steve claimed pole position by over one second despite having not raced at Oran Park before. He then went on to convincingly win all three races and in the process reduced the lap record by a staggering two seconds making a total of 15 wins from 15 starts in 2006.

Bill Nickless, Sales Director of Chiron World Sports Cars attended the Oran Park event to meet their super quick customer who is more than a little pleased with his Chiron. "I have purchased a world class racing car and I am very much looking forward to the challenge of other new cars joining us in 2007", commented Steve Morcombe.

Bill reports considerable interest in the Chiron for which Steve Morcombe is the Australian agent.
